Most venues on the Coast own a PA. Most bands have played through it and sounded like mud. The gear is rarely the problem — nobody was on the desk, or the person on it was also pouring drinks.
We arrive early, tune the system to the room, line-check every input, build the band a monitor mix they can actually hear, and then mix the show — riding vocals over the guitars, pulling the kick into the room, catching feedback before the audience does. The band sounds like their record and the venue doesn't get the noise complaint.
We bring our own microphones, DI boxes and a digital console if the house one isn't up to it, or the whole PA if the venue has nothing.

Sunshine Coast Sound is Jack Scandrett and Mitch. Jack has fifteen years on the desk, most of it in commercial musical theatre, where the mix is under a microscope eight shows a week. Mitch runs Sunshine Coast Sound's local shows and knows every venue system on the Coast.

Extras: a second engineer for monitors or a big stage, in-ear monitor systems, multitrack recording, a stage manager for a festival, and stage lighting. Everything is quoted in writing first.
A stage plot and input list, even a rough one on a napkin; a set list with anything unusual flagged; the venue's contact; and your start time. We send a one-page form that takes five minutes, and we ring the venue ourselves about their system and their noise limit.
Pubs, clubs and surf clubs from Noosa to Caloundra, the Eumundi and Noosa market and festival circuit, hinterland halls and wineries, theatres and school halls, and back lawns with a band on the deck. Travel across the Coast is included; ask about further afield.
Yes. Most pub, club and surf-club rigs are fine in the right hands. We bring our own mics, DIs and a console if the house one isn't up to it, and tune the system before doors.
Yes. One engineer runs both from a digital console for most bands. For a big stage or in-ears for a full band, we add a second engineer on monitors.
